The Escape

Post by Zankas Vytiaz on Sat Aug 29, 2015 4:59 pm

It was another quiet night in Ferbronia, not much seemed to be happening beyond the normal lifestyles of the denizens here. What more a perfect night can anyone ask for than this? Hardly a cloud was seen in the sky; the lights weren't even all that bright enough to start to really damper the stars vision in the sky. Although, the stars were much closer here than experienced anywhere else. The sister galaxy acted as the brightest light to all below and made for the perfect nightlight to anyone who was still out and about.

When the night reached it's peak, that's when things started to change for the lives of many. On the outskirts of the busy city, a dark cloud started to form on the surface of the land. Conditions had been just right and a spark of electricity surged through this micro storm and unlocked a passage to another world some might consider to be as hell. The heat that came from this new door was intense and could be felt up to a mile away. What creatures that knew of the evil that could be inside were already starting to flee as far away from this spot as quick as they could muster.

Within the portal, a shadow started to stir. It started to claw it's way out of the portal and into the new world before it. Only once the creature had made it out, did the portal it came through dissipate and turn back into cloud to conceal the beast for the few moments more as it would appear to get its bearings on the new land before it could wreak havoc. When the creature stood up, it looked no bigger than a child. Though it's body was still enveloped in the mist, it's form looked slender and feeble. If the being was here to cause trouble, it certainly didn't look like it was going to get far.

     Febronia.
The voice called out as always, sounding distant but near at the same time. It was always from the same direction, no matter where on Deralia he was. As he moved around, it moved in unison with him, always speaking down from above. He couldn't take it much longer, and gave in - he bought a one-way ticket to the planet he'd been called to for years.

     Febronia.
Even on the cabin ride, the voice called out stronger and stronger. He paid extra just so the cab would go quicker, stretching the legal limits on transit ships. He didn't know what would await him on Febronia, there wasn't much information about the planet that was available to civilians. If he had followed in his father's footsteps and joined the military, he may have had more luck with information... but with his father's estrangement, there was just no room for asking about a planet that's clearly classified to civilians of Deralia. When he got there, he would need to be on his toes.

     Febronia.
It was louder still as he touched down on the planet, paying his tab and scanning the surface. He could clearly see what looked like the planet's sun directly above, hinting at a noonish time, but the sky was dark. He could see the sun clearly. Maybe this was the night time of these people? He hadn't seen the sun while in the cabin, maybe this was just their moon? There was something very odd about what he was seeing, but he dismissed it due to the pressing voice against his sanity. It was calling out faster now, every thirty or so seconds. He listened a few times as he narrowed the direction of the voice and took off towards it.

     . . .
     What was he staring at?
     . . .
     The voice had stopped.
     . . .
The cloud above him was violent, sparking a surge of power straight through the ground, causing an intense heat that took everything he had in him just to hold on. It felt... heavy, powerful, and evil. The voice had stopped, though; he couldn't just fleet now, even when every sense in his body was shouting flight not fight; flight not fight; flight not fight! to him. He had to stay where he was, the voice could have been calling him to defeat this evil, even at the cost of his life. Extending his left hand towards the energy of the portal that the shadow was clawing it's way out of, he shifted his feet to keep his balance as he reached his right hand behind him, grabbing onto the hilt of his sword as he squinted his eyes to keep a better focus on his target.
The creature had finally came through the portal as is dissipated, clouding the beast in dust. Lazarus grit his teeth as he braced for combat, staring through the dust cloud as he tensed his muscles in juicy anticipation. Finally the cloud cleared, and he looked to see... a child? Almost feminine, though still prepubescent, he could not tell for sure. Maybe the evil he was feeling was from the portal, and this was just a child too immature to cause trouble who just escaped. Or... the portal was his own doing because of his immense power and the childthing was just a disguise. He had to decide what to do, so he decided to take both approaches.
His clothes melded into his skin as every part of his body turned black, save for his piercing golden eyes. His once shining red hair also turned black, but still metallic enough to tell that it's hair. The shadowy figure dashed forward towards the child, landing in front of him and waving. He would try a social approach, but was ready for combat if it needed to start.
"Hello there. You're a curious one, aren't you?"

The creature turned his head, over his shoulder, so that he may look the new voice over. Although the other decided to armor himself up for what could come, the smaller figure did not look as though he even felt threatened. Either it was that he had that much confidence in his power, or that he truly was a child and had no real fear of anything that was considered dangerous to others. As the smoke that brought him here started to vanish more, it was clear on his body that the boy has come from a dark place; scars littered his small figure and dirt was his only clothing at the moment. Yet, even though his body looked as though it had seen hardship, his hair looked as though it would still be soft to the touch. His face shared the same soft characteristic, as though they were the only two things that had ever mattered to both the small creature and whatever else had come in contact with him.

"Where am I?" The voice of a boy rang from the creature's throat. His head turns up to the sky, the new sight being something that was never before seen to him. "It's so bright here." He said once more in his soft voice. He held up one hand, something strange now being noticed again. On his hand, was a clawed gauntlet, a tool of war that the boy seemed to be in possession of and could be the aid in how he managed to escape from where ever he was to this plane. Though it may have looked like he was trying to block out the lights from the sky, he was really trying to grab at it; he was trying to grab at the stars and see what sort of creature they were.

Bright? This dark place is bright for this child? The place he came from must have been a place of pure darkness for this to be bright. Lazarus took a look at the child's body, and noticed the scars and other such damage he'd taken, and decided to trust him. He dismissed his Archon form and returned to his normal self, red hair and green eyes smiling at the kid. He sheathed his weapon and took a knee, extending his hand towards the child.
"My name's Lazarus. You're on a planet called Febronia. Are you alright?" He noticed the clawed gauntlet closing slightly, as if the child was trying to claw at the stars and the sun. Lazarus grinned slightly, and started to sit down.

The boy turned his head back to look over his shoulder at the other man before him. The boy turned his body fully to face the other and and then started to kneel down, out of an old habit. He had his right knee to the floor as well as his fist, while his left knee was up and his other arm resting on top of it. The boy then tipped his head downward and closed his eyes before greeting the other.

"Forgive me, I must have left my manners in the other realm. My name is Zankas." Though he actually had no name to be called by other than boy, slave, creature, etc. the small boy was still going to take his birth name so that all who knows of his lineage will know what he's done to get to this point. "Zankas Vytiaz, at your service." He remained in his kneeling position, perhaps still out of habit, until he was instructed to do otherwise. Yet the voice he should expect to hear wouldn't be that of the man that is standing before him now.
