ETERNAL CHAOS

Originally created as a Kingdom Hearts site, Eternal Chaos has instead evolved into an RP site that will let you have a full range of characters that you can base off other existing things or things you make up yourself. You will RP in the worlds from Kingdom Hearts as well as wonderful worlds staff and users have created. In addition to these worlds, you have arenas, markets, and social areas. It is pretty much everything a human being would need in the real world. As you navigate through the site, you will find many different things your character can do and be able to experience within the Eternal Chaos community. Throughout the time you give to this site, you will play through your character's own story as they are thrown into the stories and plots that occur on the whole site. While you continue through this topic, you will learn all the basics you need to know before jumping headfirst into making your character. As for everything else, you'll figure out by experience. You can also ask for help from any of the members and staff.

Basic Rules

  1. Minimal cursing.
Please keep cursing to a diminutive amount, if you must use it, use it once in a while, not every other chance you get. If this becomes part of your daily vocabulary I will be adding censors, changing the foul word from whatever it was to "I lika the pottie." It isn't fun to add sensors, don't force us. Staff may also single you out and remove some of your privileges.
  2. No posting in creation topics unless a Moderator or Administrator.
If you post in any creation topics, not your own, you will be given a warning and all your posts will be deleted from the topic. If it happens again you could suffer a level drop. Even if you are a moderator you could still drop a level if you post something that does not need to be there. Having conversations not relevant to the topic is not allowed. If you need to talk to that person send them a PM, don't violate the rules to do so. One way to get you noticed for being a Moderator is not violating the rules and posting something in the creation topic.
  3. Worlds.
There are 57 worlds on this site and each one has a specific level you must meet in order to join it. That's not to say, however, that you are totally restricted from interacting with those worlds. As you can see, the worlds are divided up into various Overworlds that act as central hubs to the worlds within. If you do not meet the level requirement of a particular world, you are free to RP in the hub area of those worlds, as those have no level restrictions.
  4. Traveling.
While you are allowed to have as many threads as you want on a particular world, unfortunately you cannot be in two worlds at the same time. In that regard, there are three ways you can travel between worlds. The first is to "recall" back to the Overworld hub for that particular world cluster (you must exit out any threads you have joined in the world you are recalling from) and you may then enter another world. This method has no cost and can be used at any time. The second is by interplanetary travel via ship (gummi ship, space ship, etc) from your current world to a different one. In order to use this method of travel, you must first purchase, build, and register your ship. This is a rather costly method and also a bit dangerous, as the routes between worlds when traveling via ship can be patrolled by both enemies or other members. Should your ship be damaged, you will be restricted from using that method of transportation until your ship has been repaired (which is also rather costly). More about this method will be explained in the shop section for ships. The third and final method of transportation is portals. This method is the quickest and safest way of traveling, but it is also the most difficult to use. The reason being that you must be trained in the use of portals either by another member who has learned or by an NPC portal trainer. It is possible for more than one person to learn from a single trainer (whether PC or NPC).
  5. God-modding/Metagaming.
No one likes a god moder. If you are reported as one, you could have a variety of things done to you. One could be as easy as a request to stop by an Administrator or Moderator and given a consequence if you should continue. Another is you could be brutally killed by an Administrator and they will toy with you. One is less humiliating than the other and most of the time you might not get off so easy. Save yourself the trouble and just don't do it. Metagaming is when a person takes knowledge known outside of the RP (ie knowing a character is deathly allergic to peanuts outside of RP) and applying it within the RP world. Doing this is expressly forbidden. If you are found guilty of metagaming you will be warned and your post will be deleted. If you continuously metagame, you will be banned from posting for a day. If even after being banned and you should continue to metagame for reasons unknown, you will be banned from the site for a week. Any further continuation results in a permanent ban from the site.
  6. Random encounters.
Like with most games, it is possible to randomly run into groups of enemies. This is, in fact, one of the three ways that you can receive experience. In order to participate in a random encounter, you must first roll the Ruby Dice (which determine how many enemy encounters you will have), then roll the Sapphire Dice (which will determine the number of enemies you will encounter in each group). After rolling the Ruby and Sapphire Dice, you then roll the Enemy Level Dice to determine the level of the enemies you encounter during your fights. The number of rolls you are permitted is dependent on your level. Levels 1-10 can only roll once, Levels 11-20 can roll twice, and Levels 21-30 can roll three times. Additionally, there are four types of dice that you can roll, which determine which enemies you encounter during said random encounters. The "Enemy Type" dice can be rolled regardless of what world you are on currently, the last three, however, are exclusive to three distinct locations: The Eternal Dice correspond to Eternal Sonata, the CGP Dice correspond to Cocoon/Gran Pulse, and the Broken correspond to Keyblade Graveyard. The number of times these latter four dice can be rolled is dictated by the number that was rolled to determine the group size. Random encounters can only be rolled for every hour (this cooldown takes effect once all encounters have been completed, if you flee from the battle, or if you are defeated during an encounter.) Additional participants cannot join a Random Encounter that is already taking place. Participants must join the Random Encounter either prior to its start or during any intermissions between waves of enemies. The opposing forces will be played by EC Game Master.
  7. Fighting another member.
Fighting does not only have to be in the arena and you could fight with someone in any world, any topic you want. When fighting, the creator of the fight may make up any rules he wants. This can mean extra health and extra damage to attacks. Just remember that when in other created battles, you won’t have the extra additions you created in other fights. Fighting is defaulted to a stat system. Everything you need to know about that is found in the Stat System topic.
  8. Fighting an Administrator.
Friendly sparring matches are wonderful, and if you so wish, you may spar with an Administrator. When engaging in a sparring match, administrators are required to adjust their level to match that of their opponent. Additionally, they must also adjust their stat points to reflect that level (though they are still allowed to apply the level appropriate stat points to their stats in order to fairly do battle with their opponent), and announce the class they will be sparring you in.
  9. Character death.
If you have a Dæmon, you are only fainted when you have lost all health, same with if you are in a battle with any other member on your party. However, if fighting alone and you faint, you are not allowed to post in any topics in that world until you are healed. However, if you do have a Dæmon, then you may post how your Dæmon tries to step in and drag you to safety. Be warned, your Dæmon may also be targeted and killed. In this event, you are considered dead. Death is handled in two ways. The first is if you are a part party and you die, your healer could still bring you back to life. The second, is you are sent to that world's Overworld and are denied access to continue posting in that topic. Being revived at the Overworld will cost 5% of your current wealth.
  10. Fighting in OOC.
Unlike fighting in a topic when you're your character and fighting another user's character with weapons and skills, fighting someone as yourself with words will not be taken lightly. Depending on how severe, you may be visited by many Administrators about the issue and you could be banned from the site for a few days, or more, or permanently. If you are planning on quitting with a bang, please don't and just quit. Don't make Administrators have to stop what they are doing just to go to the fight and stop it, only to find out you were only fighting everyone who pissed you off just before you left. This will resort in your IP being banned and you will not be allowed to come back. If you must tell everyone how you felt about them before you leave, then post up something in the chatroom. It could be taken down that day or the following, but you are welcome to try and get a few views. When quitting, do not request an Administrator to remove your account from the site or ban it in any way. Simply leave the site. Maybe in a few days/months you will miss us and decide to come back and stay for a little while longer. Coming back to an account that you left is much better then starting all over. Coming back to an old account, rather than making a new one, could also help you stay even longer, because you know you won’t go from being as strong as you were, to level 1.
  11. Out of Character/Conversation (OOC).
Please take OOC to PMs. If you want to know something about someone’s post, then don't hold up the topic with your single post of OOC. However, if you can do OOC and still have a good post, then you may do that. Others can then reply with their OOC and still post as well. If you cannot respond to an OOC message and still post, then just PM them the answer. It isn't pretty to see a topic filled with only OOC.
  12. Events
When an event occurs, you have to be here on the day of the event for whatever prizes that were given out. If you miss the day and start whining to an Administrator about how you missed it and if you can get the prize anyway, then you could be prohibited from the next event entirely. We could give you a warning about it as well, but be cautious with how you ask and when. Events are distributed by Administrators only, and only Administrators know when another one will happen. If you hear from another user about an event, they could be lying. Even Moderators could be lying at times, but they are only messing with your head. It is best to just ignore them. Do not PM an Administrator if the rumors are true or not. You will be excluded from the event that may or may not happen.
  13. Warnings.
Warnings are a touchy issue, but are required in essence. You start with 5 chances on the forum; any time an administrator or moderator has to forcibly correct your breaking of the rules, you will receive a warning. If you manage to get to 0 chances, you will be banned temporarily and your warnings will be reset to 4. Get to 0 again and the duration will increase, and warnings will be at 2. Get to 0 a third time, and you will receive a permanent ban. (Read below for more information on those.) - If you manage to go 2 months without being punished, you may receive a warning level back as a reward.
  14. Banning.
When banned, you might receive a message in the email account registered under your character telling you why you were banned and for how long. If it is a permaban you can create another account and avoid what you did to get you banned. Do not use the account to request your old account back or we will ban you for a week on that account. Further offences will result in an IP ban. There are not many things you can be banned for, so when you are banned you need to make sure you don't do it again. If you do create a new account and repeat your old offences, you could have your IP banned. If in the event you are banned and you have not been given a reason, you may contact Administrators from their email addresses to ask why, they will be listed at the bottom of the post. We request you only email us for emergencies and not to talk. PM us if you would like to talk.
  15. Warning Levels.
When you break the rules frequently and are causing lots of problems for staff, you will be warned by a reduction of your warning level. If your warning level is below 50% (orange) you will be unable to participate in any site events. Moderators that drop to this warning level will be demoted, possibly permanently.

~Character Rules~

  1. Creating a character
When creating a character, you want to make sure that you use the template we provide and filling everything out as it tells you to. Every part to the template will give you a little information on what to do for that part, so it is pretty easy to follow. Just make sure you try to fill everything out to the best of your abilities and you should be approved right away. All you need to do is check the "Characters currently in use" post to see if your character that you want to be is still open. If it is your own character, but a commonly used name, check to see how many character as using that name. We do not want too many users with the same character name.
  2. Extra Characters
Extra characters can only be approved by an Administrator, if you see anyone posting in it telling you what to do. You have the right to ignore them and request for a Moderator or Administrator to delete their post. When they tell you what to fix, do not whine about it and just fix it. Extra characters are going to be hard to obtain if you are not used to working so hard on something like description. When you are finished with an extra character please PM an Administrator and they will look at it when they can. If they see it before it is done and see something wrong, they could tell you to fix it right there, other than that they will say it is good so far and just finish with what is needed to be done. Extra characters are able to help you during random encounters but are not allowed to take part in PvP combat. Extra characters scale in strength along with your main character and share the same stats as your main character. However, Extra Characters are not restricted to having the same class as your main character. Additionally, separate Extra Characters can have different classes from each other (ie you can have an Extra Character that is a Ninja and another that is a Beastmaster).

  3. Extra character limits
While you are free to create as many Extra characters as you like, you can only have up to 4 of your Extra characters with you in a thread at any given time. It is fine to mention their whereabouts while in the thread, but other than the four you have chosen to accompany you, they cannot actively participate in the thread.

  4. Changing a Character
You have the ability to change your character once a month. Depending on the day you make your character, you will need to wait for that exact date, or a date after that in the following month. You do not need permission to do this anymore and you just have to make sure you are waiting a full month before your last character change. When creating a new character, keep in mind that you are going to lose any skills, forms, weapons, armor and your Dæmon, when creating a new character. The only thing you will be keeping is your summons. Because summons can be many levels above you, having a clean set of new summons will be a little unfair to users that have kept their character since they started.

  5. Weapons
Weapons are to be made with the thought in mind that it will not kill someone with the same health as you’re in one or two hits. Weapons should be made with the thought in mind that it will do about 3/4 of half your health. So basically 3/8 of your health, only that I broke it down by 1/2 at first, then did the 3/4. All weapons are open, save for direct cannon weapons. Things like the organization has: guns, lances, knives, are not direct cannon weapons. How they are made, being their pictures, you may not have unless you are that cannon character. If you want Axel's weapon but can’t find any pictures that are not his, then just describe what yours looks like, making it different then his.
  6. Armor
Armor is used to hold up so that you can withstand some damage from other users, making it harder for you to die in about three hits. Armor is to be made with protecting only a few bits of attacks, not everything. Make it so you are not invincible in any one armor. Armor and Weapons should not be made together and are to be made separate. This way, you can make direct links to each area instead of to the same area then have the user wanting to know to scroll down past any weapon.

  7. Skills
You can pretty much have any skill you can think of, just make sure no one else has it. You can’t have skills with cannon specific names; be more original than that. The only thing about skills is that you can’t create multiple skills in one post, please split them up. This is to help Administrators count up your skills later and for you to make absolute links to that specific skill. You can’t make skills that will allow you to use anyone else's skills in any way, shape, or form.

  8. Summons
Summons are to be made stronger than the user. That being said, you may have a summon that is 5 levels higher than you are yourself. When creating the summon, please be as specific as you can. This way, there is no confusion involved within it.
  9. Xeivers
Xeivers are bonded to you through a blood contract. That being said, you may Only have one Xeiver, but they can level with you through Chaos Academy. When creating a Xeiver, they are created at your level with a boost to their health and mana of 2 levels higher. Their stats change from 400 a level to 500.
  10. Enchantments
Enchantments are extras to any weapon or armor, making it so that you may add one or two more element difference in your armor or giving your blade any elemental advantages. This can also include making a little extra damage by any means for a little extra mana.[/i]

  11. Forms
Forms are created to be stronger than your normal form; just like summons are created to be stronger. However, forms only let you be 2 levels higher than you are. This is because you are changing physical limitations to grow a little stronger with added effects, not to make you some God.

  12. Dæmon
Your Dæmon is your soul. This creature will be by your side at all times and help you when you are in need. Although it not really powerful, it has amazing health and can get you away from battles quickly before you are to completely die. This will help with confusion as to why you die yet you are still roaming around other worlds. If you choose to not have a Dæmon, then if you die, you are no longer fainted, but actually dead. When you die in a topic, and you have a Dæmon, your Dæmon has the ability to heal you in 20 posts, regardless of who posted them, in any topic. That is, if you are not soul locked. *Soul locking is an Administrator, and rarely normal user, ability that removes your soul from your body, making it so you are unable to be healed unless by the same user that casted it on you, or anyone levels higher than they are. If an Administrator put the skill on you, you have to be healed by another Administrator.

  13. Items
When creating an item, keep in mind that you are not creating it to sell it your give it away to anyone as you see fit. You are creating it for the fact to obtain only 1 to 5 of that item, depending on its worth, and then for it to be added to the shop to be sold to anyone wanting it. No item is created to be used by only one person and to give special benefits to any one user.

  14. Character Profile
You must create a character profile and add a link to it in your signature. Failure to do this will result in a level drop per week this is not done. Creating one is really easy to do and we should not have to force you to making one. A character profile helps users keep track of what they have, and it lets other users know you have what you say you have, being that you are not lying to them. Inventory items should be added to your Character Profile with a date stamp, the shop you got it from, and the page on which you got it from. We would not have to do this, but after some users have been abusing the items, we have to have it done this way. Just because you buy one auto life elixer, this does not mean you have 98 more.

Re: Rules

Post by Mitsuki Ishida on Sat Jan 24, 2009 8:52 pm

  1. Closure
And there you have it, please enjoy your stay here and respect one another like family. Failure to follow the rules will result in a different consequence depending on the rule you break. To save yourself time from breaking each one once to make a log, more than one includes an automatic ban to deactivation. Breaking a few rules in a row might result in that itself. Basically, just do not do it, please. I would love to see no fights here, just us all having fun. Remember, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to PM an Administrator first. However, if the answer is to be found someone in these rules, please search for it in here before talking to an admin. *Hint: using ctrl F opens a search box that will send you to any word you type in it. Use this if you want to know something about skills and you do not want to search for them by eye.*
  2. Adding Rules
Administrators reserve the right to make changes and add on any new rules when they see something is not going correctly to their eyes. It must be taken up with the other Administrators to be voted on if it involves changing a rule, so one Administrator can’t reserve the right to totally change over a rule in the future. When you see an Administrator doing so, report the issue to any other Administrators. Reporting the Administrator to all Administrators means your issue will be looked at faster, but it also means if the Administrator had the right to, you will be getting a bunch of posts from every Administrator about how that Administrator was able to do what he/she has done. So when reporting an admin, make sure you know they were in the wrong.
